Summary
In this chapter, we looked at the structure of iMovie for macOS in order to build confidence working with it. We first looked at the media storage system on iMovie for macOS, which differs from the mobile version of the app because it allows you to create and populate your own iMovie Libraries, and smaller Events within them. We looked at what you might use Events for, and the possible risks of having more than one iMovie Library.
We then looked at some useful keyboard shortcuts and mouse/trackpad options for iMovie. Knowing your way around the interface and remembering keyboard shortcuts for actions will help speed up your editing flow, and will make editing feel easier and more natural. Remember to keep trying out the different actions and menu commands available to you so that you can get used to them!
