Harvesting information – reading the manual
This is a very basic and logical act, isn't it? However, you may have a different approach than the average user reading the manual. Your approach will consider each section of the manual and infer what it tells you about the inner workings of the system.
Taking a system analysis approach
The manual will describe the following:
- If and how the system can interact with the environment
- If and how the user can interact with the system
- How the system will inform the user about its internal status
- If (but usually not how) the system interacts with other system
- How the system is powered
The manual will inform us about the following:
- What sensors are present to sense the environment
- Where some sensors are (and sometimes which type) for user interaction
- What display block components are present
- Whether some networking capabilities are present
