We've now covered all the major parts of Windows Terminal, including terminal tabs, panes, keyboard shortcuts, the search UI, and the command palette. We now have the solid foundation we need to be command line masters—and it's only Chapter 2!
The remainder of this book will focus on customizing our Windows Terminal and its shells to bring our command-line usage to the next level. We'll cover installing additional shells, advanced customization techniques, and example development and DevOps workflows for building and deploying real-world applications.
Let's jump into our first advanced topic in the book: adding a fully functioning Ubuntu Linux environment into Windows, easily accessible through our new shell drop-down menu in Windows Terminal.
