Architecture decisions for enablement

This book is about making good architectural decisions while designing and building your industrial IoT systems. There is a lot to understand about why these decisions are important, so we spend a lot of time talking about the benefits of Industrial IoT and Industry 4.0 since the technology would be a waste of time and money for its own sake.

Often, we don’t know our end game; we know that technology and its potential benefits are passing us by, and we need to catch up to stay in the game and stay relevant within our industry. This is OK and trying something is better than doing nothing, but better still is thinking about your industry, your constraints, and the environment, and then designing something that will allow you to achieve your end goals most effectively.
