The basics of Find & Recode
Find & Recode allows users with the Advisor role to search for transactions with specific criteria and change particular aspects of the transactions. A standard user cannot access the Find & Recode feature. The common changes you can make are as follows:
- Change the account
- Change the tax rate
- Change the contact
- Change or add a tracking category
Find & Recode works on most of the Xero transaction types; here is a list of the supported transactions:

Transaction types not searchable with Find & Recode are as follows:
- Voided transactions of any type
- Fixed assets
- Purchase orders
- Quotes
- Bank transfers
- Overpayments
- Tracked inventory
Any transactions of the preceding types will need to be manually edited individually.
