Drill down analysis
Once the raw data has been passed through the taxonomy, it is organized in a hierarchical structure. This hierarchical structure facilitates a drill down analysis. Fig 5.9 depicts an example of drill down analysis.
The first step in the drill down process is to look at sentiment based on the supercategory of data. The analyst finds that hotel room is one of the major components of product for the hotel. The analyst then asks to see what about the hotel room that people are complaining about. The drill down process then takes the analyst to the shower in the hotel room. Continuing the drill down process the analyst finds that the shower is running only cold water.
By doing the drill down process, the analyst has isolated precisely what product is causing the problem, therefore providing much value to the organization.
