Why incumbents combine an engineering transformation with their DevOps evolution
A very common approach that I have seen with every incumbent I have worked with is either combining or running in parallel the DevOps evolution with an engineering transformation. Those two often are further combined with a business enterprise agility transformation, as we saw in Chapter 5, Business Enterprise Agility and DevOps Ways of Working Reconciliation. An engineering transformation will typically involve several engineering-related initiatives that are applied across the incumbent’s organization, including both the business’ Agile DevOps teams as well as the technological and infrastructure utility ones.
