Examining server-side import/export using dump files
The Oracle Cloud environment promotes Data Pump operations, through which all activities are done in the cloud infrastructure. A client just supervises the process. Therefore, it is far more effective and reliable compared to conventional solutions, such as client-side import and export definitions. To carry out this process using the cloud, in the first phase, export data is copied to the cloud data repository or Object Storage, followed by ensuring its accessibility from the database layer. The user of the database system does not have the right to access the filesystem where the export resides. Therefore, an additional database object must be created, called the Oracle directory.
