Post-implementation

In the world of SharePoint, you hear so many horror stories about migrations and implementations that go wrong. These stories are very true. On my way to a customer site, I met a CTO who was doing a SharePoint implementation for 2010. He told me about the issues he faced while using SharePoint and I explained to him that SharePoint is all about planning and understanding what you want from it. He also mentioned he was unaware of some of the best practices I had mentioned, as were his team, and he said they did not use many service accounts in the configuration. They also had slow-running sites and the users were confused about how to use the platform.

So on the first day, please do not be surprised with comments, issues you may run into, or those for which you think you have covered everything thoroughly, because something always happens that cannot be explained in SharePoint in my experience.
