This chapter was fully devoted to datawarehousing concepts. First of all, there was a brief introduction to dimensional concepts. You learned about facts and dimensions, and also learned about technical terms as for example business keys and surrogate keys. Then you learned about the different kind of dimensions—including time dimensions and slowly changing dimensions—and how to load them with PDI. Finally, you were introduced to different kind of fact tables, and also learned to load those tables with data.
Starting from the next chapter, we will see advanced concepts that will allow you to use PDI to address any complicated challenge.
