Warning – deprecated features
In my years as a SharePoint architect, I have come across different definitions for various terms, and the meaning of the term "deprecated" always comes up in conversation. When defining the word "deprecated" and Microsoft's use of the word, I want to make sure we are on the same page to ensure we understand Microsoft's intentions before going forward. The features listed in this section will be referred to as either deprecated or removed features.
Microsoft defines deprecated in a couple of different ways, as seen in their documentation online. One definition for the word deprecated as used by Microsoft is no longer making updates to features listed within SharePoint.
