Making a custom brush in Adobe Substance 3D Painter
Applying textures and masks, as we learned in the first two sections of this chapter, can be tedious if you have a lot of them to apply. To make it easier, you can create your own custom brush and apply the textures or masks very easily and quickly. However, this method only works for simple textures or masks such as screws and image stamps, because they work like stamps and not like regular texture maps.
So, let’s start with the following steps and make a brush with a screw pattern:
- Select TV_Front_Casing so that we can use our custom screw brush on the previously created TV Logo, and make sure all the folders in the LAYERS panel are collapsed so that the panel looks neat and organized.
- Click on Add Layer to create a paintable layer on top of all layers and rename it
