Conventions used

There are a number of text conventions used throughout this book.

Code in text: Indicates code words in text, database table names, folder names, filenames, file extensions, pathnames, dummy URLs, user input, and Twitter handles. Here is an example: "It's quite easy to apply authorization in MVC by adding the [Authorize] attribute to the controller class or to the actions that are not anonymous."

A block of code is set as follows:

[Authorize(Users = "john,tim")]
public IActionResult EditContent()
{
 return View();
}

Any command-line input or output is written as follows:

Request URL:http://TheWebsiteUrl/register
Request Method:POST
Status Code:200 OK
firstname:John

Bold: Indicates a new term, an important word, or words that you see onscreen. For instance, words in menus or dialog boxes appear in bold. Here is an example: "As shown in the preceding screenshot, first we need to set the Domain name that we are using in the application."
