Summary
In this chapter, we covered channel types, channel creation, and related settings. We understand that there are standard (that is, available to all members), private (that is, restricted to a subset of team members), and shared (that is, cross-team inside and/or outside your organization) channels. Additionally, the membership for a private channel is handled separately from the team by the private channel's owner (who might not necessarily be a team owner).
Additionally, we covered channel settings, including moderation capabilities and analytics on users, files, and engagement.
Then, we took a look at the Teams policies that allow us to restrict the creation of private channels to specific individuals or groups.
This chapter should prepare you for your test on the Plan and manage channels objective for the MS-700 exam. In the next chapter, we'll begin exploring the management of chat and collaboration experiences in Teams.
