Revisiting module one
In module one, you learned how lightweight software development methodologies, mainly created by software engineers, evolved to eliminate many of the problems associated with the traditional linear-sequential practices related to the so-called Waterfall approach. The Agile Manifesto formalized the fundamental values and principles behind the movement to develop less prescriptive and inefficient development methodologies.
Out of all the lightweight development methodologies, the widescale adoption of Scrum made it the de facto Agile standard in the software industry. Nevertheless, many of the software engineering practices that were developed as part of other lightweight development strategies persist in use today. For example, Kent Beck's test-driven development and extreme programming techniques are still widely used.
