Swords as tools

Tools are a type of object that a humanoid (player) can equip from their Backpack. Any tool that we wish for players to start and respawn with should be placed inside of the StarterPack object. Once set up properly, this will allow players to select numbers on their keyboard or by clicking the Tools icon on the screen if they’re on mobile. Let’s look at how we can set up and modify the various aspects of a Roblox sword tool.

How to do it…

We will first locate and then insert the SwordOfLight model into the StarterPack object. This model can be found here: roblox.com/library/14971508851. We will then delete the ThumbnailCamera object and customize the PointLight color. Next, we will change the Lunge and Unsheath SoundID values and then change the RollOffMaxDistance and Volume values.
