Chapter 7, Tracking Methods for Decision-Making
Project tracking and baseline comparison
This exercise is designed to help you practice the techniques covered in Chapter 7, Tracking Methods for Decision-Making. This will include setting a status date, using tracking methods, and comparing baseline data. You will set a baseline on an existing template and then track progress, comparing it against the baseline using Microsoft Project. This exercise will enhance your understanding of project tracking and baseline comparison, as well as improve your understanding of the tracking methods available:
- Baseline: Open either a previous exercise from this chapter that has the baseline applied or open a template from File | New, and then set the baseline on the template.
- Set the status date: Set a status date to create a reference point for tracking progress. This is done on the Project tab | Project Information or on the Project ribbon.
- Track the progress:
- Update the task progress...
