Working with stencils and projection in Adobe Substance 3D Painter
Stencils and projection are very widely used tools inside Painter. Through these tools, you can easily project images, textures, or bitmaps onto the surface of your 3D model with the amalgamation of brush and texture effects, whereas you cannot mix the brush and texture effects with the complex mask and planar mask methods that we studied in Chapter 4, Working with Masks in Adobe Substance 3D Painter.
So, let’s see how it is done in practice:
- Go to the ASSETS panel and select the Brushes asset type, then select the brush you want to use. In this project, we will use a Basic Hard brush.
