Summary
In this chapter, we learned about what anti-patterns are, and how they seem common and legitimate to use. However, they can become a real issue because they can help in the short term, but in the long term, they will pose all kinds of problems. That is why you should avoid them as much as possible; although it takes more effort in the beginning, the benefits will pay you back in the long term.
Knowing this will make you able to choose the right path from the beginning, a skill that will bring high value to you, your projects, and, of course, your customers. Looking at the case study, but also looking at real life around you, you might find enough examples where the usage of anti-patterns proves why you should not use them.
In the next chapter, we are going to look at some interesting case studies; plus, you can test the knowledge you have gained so far!
