Understanding the Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement data model
When implementing Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement, one of the first things we will do is to understand the data model that comes with the platform and contrast it with the data model we need to respond to business requirements. As discussed in Chapter 1, Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement applications are built on Dataverse, which implies that there is a set of pre-built objects even before we install any Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement application. Dataverse includes a set of tables under the Common Data Model (CDM) data schema. On top of this set of common tables, each Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement application introduces another subset of tables specific to every business model.
