Real-time lighting (with path tracing)
In the world of Archviz, rendering photorealistic scenes is essential but can be a daunting task. That’s where Path Tracing comes in – a hardware-accelerated rendering mode designed to bring physically correct GI, reflection and refraction of materials, and more, all without compromising on quality. Path Tracing is a progressive rendering mode that works seamlessly with Unreal Engine’s ray-tracing architecture, requiring little to no additional setup. This feature is perfect for ground truth comparisons and production renders, as unlike ray-tracing codes optimized for real-time rendering, it ensures uncompromising accuracy and photorealism.
Enabling path tracing
To use Path Tracing mode, you need an RTX graphics card and certain project settings enabled:
- Default RHI: DirectX 12
- Hardware Ray Tracing: Enable Path Tracing
- Hardware Ray Tracing: Enable Support Hardware Ray Tracing
- Optimizations: Enable...
