Summary
In this chapter, we introduced the core pillars of the DevOps 360° operating model, which we will discuss in more detail in the coming chapters. We also defined the two main governing bodies of the evolution – the vision authority group and the design and advocacy group, while we also discussed the workstreams setup. We covered their responsibilities.
Then, we outlined the core DevOps enterprise stakeholders’ domains that are of relevance to the evolution, along with their value propositions. The need for all these stakeholders to speak the same language was addressed and we proposed how to define a common DevOps evolution lexicon.
After that, we moved onto a critical dimension of the evolution, which is to understand the governing dynamics by identifying the power dynamics of the key stakeholders, as well as to capture the operating model differences within your organization, focusing on the organizationally aligned and organizationally autonomous...
