Paid access

On Roblox, a large number of games are released in their early alpha or beta stages as a paid-access experience. This is good for two main reasons. First, you’re able to generate passive revenue to further fund the development of the project. Secondly, it allows us to filter how many people are entering the experience, which allows us to easily monitor the state of the game and feedback from the players. If something critical comes up, or you realize players don’t enjoy certain things, it’s easy to fix it now before you go through with an official game launch, which may end in bad user experiences and players not returning. Through this recipe, we will look at the steps for setting up paid access as well as some tips for pricing it.

How to do it…

We will start by opening Roblox Studio and navigating to the Game Settings menu where we will then set the game to Public and then enable paid access, setting our desired price. To begin, follow...
