North Star for CI/CD design patterns

Outlining the opportunities of CI is one practice that is well-defined. Another area that has made substantial progress is metrics with DORA.

However, continuous delivery and deployment still need to address some improvements, as discussed in the previous section. We also discussed that the infrastructure layer is still evolving with new projects such as GitOps, OpenTofu, and others. A very important point is practitioners are still working on planning CI/CD design patterns and implementing them in the best possible way with limited standardization.

Also, we tried to align with the tactical outcome by implementing DORA measurements. In this section, we will discuss our North Star for establishing CI/CD design patterns so we achieve our core objective of building profitable software products and services at scale with resiliency.
