Let’s get creative – inspiring patterns

We are going to look a little later in this chapter at where you can go to find inspiration, but for now let’s look at some inspiring patterns that show how far you can take the patterns themselves. Some come from the Pattern Directory and some from the Museum of Block Art.

The Museum of Block Art (MOBA) is a great source of inspiration as you can browse so many incredible art-like creations. Please refer to this link for more detail: https://block-museum.com/. The MOBA has some incredible examples to show. Let’s look at a few here that show how patterns and blocks can be art.

The following one shown in Figure 8.1 is by Mel Choyce-Dwan, a designer who contributes a lot to WordPress and takes the concept of block art literally by creating a block composition.
