Summary

The Route 53 service is the next generation DNS service, which is a fully managed, highly available, and high performance DNS solution and is the only AWS service with a 100% SLA. Route 53 allows us to manage DNS names in a programmable manner and deliver features that can enable a high level of traffic shaping, depending on the location latency and design of our application. We have also discussed the supported DNS resource records and health checks available in Route 53. In the next chapter, we will be working with relational databases.
