Summary
In this chapter, you learned about five different design principles. We looked at contrast, and you now understand how to apply colors, size, and typography to your designs so that they complement each other. Additionally, you learned about balance and how to move elements around so that you can achieve a pleasing look and not add too much weight to any particular side of the design. You also understand the importance of hierarchy and how to draw a viewer’s eyes to the parts of the design you want them to look at. Alignment also plays an important part, as you now know how to align elements in Canva and how this tool tidies and organizes your design. Finally, you can now create repetition throughout the template packs, and you have learned that using the same or similar elements throughout brings consistency to your designs.
