ROS 2 roadmap – exploration phase
When learning a technological topic, I would say the usual pattern is as follows:
- Discovery phase: You start with the basics that everybody should learn, get a broad understanding of the technology, and learn how to use it.
- Exploration phase: Once you have the basics, you try to explore different applications, projects, and topics related to the technology. This will make you connect lots of dots and will give you an even better understanding of the global picture. You will also become better technically.
- Specialization phase: It’s impossible to be an expert on everything. At some point, to be able to dive deep into a project, to get a job, or to build a career, you will need to specialize in one particular field. After exploring lots of topics, you will have a better idea of what you want to do, or what’s most in demand. You can then focus your attention and specialize.
