The Registry of Open Data on AWS

Announced on June 21, 2022, the catalog of open data that is available on AWS was added to AWS Marketplace. AWS Marketplace is an online repository of data sources, software, and other resources that integrate directly with AWS. At the time of writing of this book, a search for “geospatial data” on the marketplace (https://aws.amazon.com/marketplace/search?searchTerms=Geospatial+data) returns around 100 data products, dozens of which can be used free of charge as open data. When data products are provided with associated costs, there is often a free trial that will let you explore the data to determine whether it is appropriate for your needs before you purchase. There are also useful packages of geospatial software and tools in AWS Marketplace that may be useful in working with the data.
