Chapter 12, Project Manager's Toolbox
Project manager’s power trio
This exercise is designed to help you practice the lessons learned in Chapter 12, Project Manager's Toolbox, on resource pool, organizer, and master projects in Microsoft Project. You will create and manage a resource pool, use the organizer to manage project objects, and create a master project to combine multiple related projects. The goal is to apply the concepts of resource management, project organization, and master project creation to a real-world scenario:
- Create a resource pool for a wedding events business:
- Open Microsoft Project and create a new blank project.
- Access the resource sheet by clicking on View | Resource Sheet.
- Enter the details for at least five resources; for each resource, define its availability, cost rates, and any other relevant information. These could be people names or event planners, coordinators, photographers, videographers, florists, caterers, musicians/DJs...
