Creating a 3D logo from scratch in Adobe Substance 3D Painter
So far, we have learned how to apply planar texture maps that have no depth or height, which are good if you want flat textures like stickers and posters on walls, and so on. However, if you want to create a texture that has a certain depth or height effect, you need to go through the following steps in which you will learn how to create a 3D embossed logo:
- Rotate the 3D viewport so that you can see the front of the television, select TV_Front_Casing from the TEXTURE SET LIST, and make sure all the folders in the LAYERS panel are collapsed to keep the panel neat and organized. We will create the logo in the red-circled area, as shown in Figure 5.10.

- In the LAYERS panel, click on Add fill layer and create a new fill layer, then rename the layer
TV Logo
. Change the Base color value of the TV Logo layer to white.
